Dance Intensives

Intensives are for the intermediate to advanced level students, ages 10 and up. Additional teachers may be added for separate level classes as needed based upon enrollment.
Dancers should bring a water and snack. Please do not bring in peanut products in snacks. They should also come prepared with the appropriate dancewear and footwear for the day.  Please discuss with the administrator or their current instructor at the school (for current students) which weeks are most appropriate for them.

Week 1 ~ Swan Lake – In-studio

Join resident faculty, Christine Geren, this week and immerse yourself into Swan Lake! Focus on perfecting your ballet and pointe technique, learning repertoire from the ballet, and Pilates, stretch and strengthening.

Week 2 ~ Cinderella – In-studio

One of the most favorite Princess stories of all time, the classic ballet, Cinderella is the theme this week. Deirdre Duffin Swindlehurst, former dancer with Pennsylvania Ballet, will lead this week of ballet and pointe technique, and variations from the ballet Cinderella.  Appropriate for intermediate & advanced levels.

Week 3 ~ Special Guest Teacher- Eric Otto – In-Studio


Special Guest teacher Eric Otto, former dancer with NYCB & ABT and current Artist In Residence at Skidmore College, will challenge dancers each morning with ballet and pointe technique, and repertoire.

Week 4 ~ Don Quixote – In-Studio

Christine Geren and Lisa McBride will join forces for this exciting week of ballet, pointe, and repertory focusing on the ballet Don Quixote, with strength and flexibility training with Yoga and Pilates. Intermediate and Advanced levels


August 17 - 21

12 & up – Intermediate & Advanced levels.

Week 5 ~ Evening Intensive – In-Studio

Deirdre Swindlehurst, Lisa McBride, Alicia Hornicek and Christine Geren are ready to get you back into shape for the new school year and have a great combination of classes for this week. Dancers may have classes in ballet technique, pointe, modern, Pilates, Yoga and NYCB workout. Appropriate for ages 12 and up, Intermediate and Advanced levels.
